Concrete walls
These can be concreted on relatively easily and with little effort. The requirement is that you are building the wall at least 80 centimeters deep foundation that provides the necessary stability.
- Drill holes at the top of the wall and insert reinforcing steel bars.
- Create formwork at the desired height.
- Fill in good quality concrete and let it harden well.

Bring up the garden wall
If the privacy screen is bricked, you can also increase it. However, you have to meet all the requirements for a stable structure and may need official approval. In order to achieve a uniform appearance, the masonry should be done with the materials of the original wall.
To build a wall, brick by brick is used in mortar. To do this, the top of the wall must first be removed.
- Before inserting, coat each stone from the front and back with mortar.
- After setting each layer, check the horizontal and vertical alignment with a spirit level, plumb line and a straightedge.
- After the last row of stones has been bricked up, let it dry well.
- The top is formed by a wall crest that prevents water from entering from above.
You can then plaster the wall and repaint.
Alternative options
If you are not that skilled with your handcraft, there are other ways to increase the level of privacy. For example, you can use a garden wall that is not too high as the basis for a fence. If you plant the small structure, the plants ensure that a dense, green privacy screen and thus the desired intimacy is created.
Tips
The neighborhood law of the federal state states which wall height is permissible at your place of residence. However, every municipality has the right to issue its own regulations. That is why it makes sense to l obtain all the necessary information from the local building authority before you even start building up the building.
