If the European beech turns brown prematurely, the first thing you should do is check how moist the soil is. European beeches do not tolerate waterlogging or drought. They respond with brown leaves.

If it is very dry, water the tree. This also prevents fungal growth. If the European beech suffers from too much moisture, try to drain the soil. In very moist soils, you should create drainage before planting.

Fungal diseases on European beeches
