Self-built water slide
Different designs of water slides are available from specialist retailers. A long and sturdy plastic tarpaulin, e.g. B. heavy painter's foil, but it does too. Let the water out of the Garden hose Walk over the tarpaulin and the fun slide can begin.

Water jumping game
Again, a stable tarpaulin is the basis. Draw hopping boxes on them with a waterproof pen. If there is only one central field, the children have to land in it with both feet. You have to hop with your legs apart in two adjacent boxes.
Lay the garden hose so that the entire tarpaulin is moistened with water. Now it is important to hop in such a way that the water splashes as strongly as possible and makes all bystanders wet.
Boat race
First, fold small paper boats with the kids and label them with the names of the participants. If available, you can also use rubber ducks.
All boats are placed in a paddling pool. At your command, the children have to blow the boats to the other side of the pool.
Water bomb pinatas
Pinatas are colorful figures that were originally made from clay pots wrapped in crepe paper and filled with candy or fruit. This popular party game can be modified in summer:
- Fill balloons or depth charges with water.
- Hang these in trees.
The children now have to try to prick the pinatas with a stick. As a result, the cool water splashes on all players and provides fun cooling.
Fishing with your feet
You need:
- A tub filled with water or a children's paddling pool,
- a chair,
- Objects such as keys, stones, toy cars, teaspoons and the like.
Place the chair against the vessel so that the kids can reach into it with their feet. Now the children have to try to fish an object out of the water with only their feet. That cools you down and is not as easy as expected.
Throw water sponge
Damp blackboard sponges flying through classrooms usually cause trouble. In this summer garden game it is even desirable to throw with the wet sponge. You need a sponge that is not too small and large flower coasters that serve as a throwing target.
The sponge is immersed in water and now, like throwing cans, the aim is to hit the target a few meters away. The winner is the one who was able to assess the trajectory of the unusual projectile best and who scores the most points.
Water fight
Once the sponge is wet, the water sponge competition can be followed by a water fight. All participants are divided into two teams. Put a rope on the lawn. This line should not be crossed. And the happy water fight can begin.
Fish apple
This game is suitable for the older ones who are already good at holding their breath and diving. Some apple wedges are placed on the bottom of the paddling pool. The children now have to fish them out of the water with their mouths without using their hands. The sweet fruits can then be eaten straight away.
Tips
For the little ones, there is a wide variety of water toys in stores that provide hours of fun. Water rides, wheels that move through the water jet or battery-operated boats turn your paddling pool into a water paradise. In addition, motor development and concentration are promoted.
