Goodbye dirt particles - clean spark plugs work better

Only a clean spark plug will produce a strong spark. You should therefore carefully check the condition of the spark plug every time you clean the lawnmower. Fortunately, these are the engine parts that are particularly easy to clean. This is how it works:

  • Disconnect the spark plug wires
  • Unscrew the spark plug with a suitable spark plug wrench
  • Remove coarse soiling with a brush
  • Apply a spark plug cleaning spray and let it take effect
  • Rub off remaining dirt particles with a cloth

It is important to note that you do not use abrasives or a blasting machine to remove stubborn dirt. Screw in the cleaned spark plug with the help of the wrench and establish the cable connection. If burnt-out electrodes or cracks in the porcelain come to light during cleaning, please replace the spark plug with a new one.

Clean air filter for a clean engine - this is how cleaning works

The majority of manufacturers recommend replacing the air filter at intervals of 25 operating hours. The filters may already be heavily soiled before this point in time, so that dirt and dust can penetrate the carburetor or the engine. You should therefore supplement the regular cleaning of the cutting deck and cutting unit with a brief cleaning of the air filter. How to do it right:

  • Remove and disassemble the air filter according to the manufacturer's instructions
  • Knock the paper filter elements clean and reinsert them
  • Replace heavily soiled paper filters

If it is a foam filter, you can clean it with hot water and a few splashes of washing-up liquid. Then wrap the filter in a dry cloth and wring it out. If the component is dry, insert it again.
