Distract wasps in a targeted manner
Who doesn’t know that: On a beautiful July day, you’ll hardly find yourself at the coffee table with delicious Danish pastries Set on the terrace, a humming, yellow-and-black striped prickly creature can enjoy its delicacies disputed. Not only do they act completely self-confidently and aggressively - if you are not careful, they may even get into your mouth, which can have very dangerous consequences.

What at first appears to be an annoying fact can also be exploited. Because you can rely on the wasps' unmistakable greed for something sugary to keep them - at least a little - away from your coffee table.
Why wasps so love sweet - and savory - food
Especially in late summer, when the wasp colonies are at the advanced generation, there is excessive wasp plague. At this time there are already many workers in the wasp state who have to take care of around 7000 to 9000 larvae and themselves. So they are constantly on the lookout for protein for their offspring and for sweets for their own energy needs.
To note:
- Wasp State grows most strongly in late summer
- The many workers then have to collect a lot of protein for the larvae and sweets for themselves
Take advantage of the wasps' preferences
You can therefore easily take advantage of the wasps' needs. A bowl of sweets specially prepared for you in a place where you do not disturb can give you more peace. A bowl with pure sugar water or a fruit lemonade is ideal - it offers the wasps an easily accessible and, for them, extremely tasty source of food. What the sting insects also like to pounce on is overripe fruit. With a bowl of mushy grapes or plums, you can bundle many wasps together - ideally at the very edge of the garden.
But also hearty food attracts wasps efficiently. In particular, raw meat and raw fish have shown a strong effect in research experiments.
