Let leaves wither
When the flowering bulbs are over, all their splendor disappears. The desire quickly arises to simply cut off the unadorned remains. But you shouldn't do that! At least not if the bulbs are supposed to bloom the following year.
The leaves contain nutrients that are gradually extracted from them and stored in the onion. They form the power reserve for the next expulsion.
Dig up flower bulbs
As soon as the foliage and the flower stem are completely dead, you can use the Dig up flower bulbs.

must be dug up
- hardy varieties can be dug up
- but they can also stay outdoors
Store flower bulbs
The dug up bulbs must be airy, cool and dark by spring overwinter. Copies that are not flawless must be sorted out beforehand.
Tips
If the weather permits, let the bulbs dry off outside. Otherwise rot can spread in the winter quarters.
