When does oregano need water in the herb patch?

Transplant young perennials in the garden, you should provide them with regular water, especially in the first few weeks. Once the plant has got used to the outdoor conditions, you rarely need to water the oregano. It is sufficient to occasionally flood the plant during long periods of heat until the soil is thoroughly saturated with water.
Avoid waterlogging at all costs, as the heat-loving herb reacts to it with rot.

Oregano in the pot needs regular watering

You can use oregano in a pot in summer on the balcony or terrace cultivate. Since the herb evaporates a lot of moisture through the leaves, you have to water the container plant daily during the hot summer weeks. Avoid waterlogging here too and pour away the water reserve in the saucer after a short time.

Tips & Tricks

Always plant oregano in a water-permeable soil mixture. Excess moisture can run off quickly.
