The noble rice, on the other hand, must not yet have been driven out. Choose a piece that has at least three well-developed eyes on it.

This is how the pear tree is grafted

An approximately four centimeter long oblique cut is made in the noble rice, in such a way that there is a cut in the middle on the other side eye is located. In technical terminology, this is referred to as the copulation cut.

The bark of the pad is raised slightly and cut lengthways once. This results in two wings.

The cut side of the noble rice is carefully inserted into the bark cut. A few millimeters of the copulation cut must still be visible at the top.

Fixing the finishing point

The place is wrapped with raffia, whereby the middle eye must not be tied in.

Finally, the whole thing is coated with finishing wax. Next spring it will show whether the grafting has been successful.
