Summer raspberries

The main season for summer raspberries is from June to July. Occasionally fruits continue to ripen until August.

Autumn raspberries

the Harvest time for Autumn raspberries starts in August. Depending on the variety, you can continually harvest new fruits until the first frost.

Two-timer raspberries

These raspberries bear twice a year. The first time they are harvested from June, the second harvest season begins in August.

Carefully harvest the raspberries

Raspberries are very sensitive and cannot tolerate pressure. Therefore, pick the fruit very carefully. Ripe raspberries come off the bush very easily.

Place the raspberries side by side in an air-permeable basket. Avoid layering them on top of each other.

Harvest and consume raspberries immediately

Harvest your raspberry bushes continuously. As soon as new fruits show their strong color, they are ready for harvest. If they stay on the bush too long, they will become soft and start to rot.

Fresh raspberries only keep for a very short time. Even in the refrigerator, they get mushy after a day and lose a lot of their aroma. Therefore, eat or process the harvest immediately.

You can do that with raspberries!

The sweet fruits taste best fresh from the bush, of course. They also taste delicious in summer fruit salads or on fruit tarts.

If the harvest is too abundant, you have to preserve the raspberries. This is best done by:

  • Raw Freeze raspberries
  • As a compote boil down
  • Process into jam
  • Dry raspberries

Pick the raspberries carefully for further processing and dispose of all fruits that have grown mold or from Maggots are infested.
