Questionable measures
The ringing
When ringing, you remove the bark around the trunk of the robinia so that it dies in the following year. However, it must be clear to them that you are causing serious injuries to the tree. In addition, this method is not always successful. If you decide to take this measure, you should be careful to avoid contact with the skin due to the high toxicity of the bark.

Use of herbicides
In the United States, toxins that kill the tree are commonplace. In this country you should weigh upwhether you are willing to take the risk of an environmental hazard. Be sure to find out from the responsible office whether the herbicide of your choice is even permitted.
Tips for removing the roots
No radical cut
A plant is always careful to balance the proportions of above and below ground growth. If you cut back the branches and twigs more strongly, the robinia will react with an even higher root formation.
Remove root runners
- trace the growth of a runners back to the trunk of the robinia
- expose the entire tail
- be careful not to damage the root so that the ridge formation does not increase
- completely dig up the root
- discard the root on the compost
- A wire mesh that you put in the earth around the trunk helps to prevent the robinia from sprouting again for some time
Keep black locust as a bonsai
How about if you don't plant your robinia in the ground where it forms many runners, but instead choose to keep it in a bucket. By constant repotting with simultaneous root pruning, the formation of runners remains comparatively low.
