When planting, make sure that the soil is permeable to water. If necessary, create a drain. Improve the soil with ripe compost, Horn shavings(€ 32.93 at Amazon *) or lime.

Protect young trees from too much sunlight, even in winter.

Fungal infestation can hardly be treated

If the yew tree is infested with fungi, there is little you can do. You must have severely infected trees dig out and dispose of it. Is the Fungal attack not too strong, it may help to cut off all the branches and pick up the needles as well. Dispose of the plant parts carefully.

Pest diseases

The yew tree worries the scale insect most. It is difficult to fight. Break ant trails and put biological pest control like Parasitic wasps(€ 69.90 at Amazon *) a.

The vine weevil, which hides in the ground, eats the needles and digs passages in the trunk. You can use nematodes against it, which the larvae eat from within.

Gall wasps aren't quite as harmful. They cause the needles to cripple and form small, round bumps on the branches. Cut off the affected branches generously and dispose of them with household waste.
