Vegetative and generative reproduction
It is possible to make a cherry tree out of one core to pull. The risk that with this type of Multiplication (generative resp. sexually), the cherry tree will not have the desired characteristics, however, is too big. After all, each core is the product of two parent cherry trees that have a different genetic makeup. As is the case with human children, it is impossible to predict which genes will prevail after the chromosome division and rearrangement.

In order to avoid this uncertainty, the fruit trees become vegetative Refinement increased. Tips & Tricks
The precious travels obtained in winter are kept cool, damp and dark until spring, e.g. B. in a box in the basement filled with damp sand.
