Reach for ripe fruit
Ripe fruits have a fully ripe core. This is important when you turn it into a mirabelle tree multiply want. You are on the safe side when you pick up freshly fallen fruit from the ground. Because if a violent storm does not bring them down from the tree, they just detach themselves from the branch "ready to reproduce".

Tips
Mirabelle trees are abundant, so you will not be short of suitable fruits. Use the same number of them for your own cultivation to increase the chances of successful germination.
Core and clean mirabelle plums
You have to get rid of the pulp and only continue working with the inner core, which is surrounded by the hard shell. How you remove the pulp from the core is up to you, as long as you do not destroy the core.
- "Nibble off" the pulp
- use a stoner
- peel off with a knife
Tips
If a lot of pulp remains stubbornly stuck to the core, the moisture can make it mold. Place the kernels in a towel and rub them vigorously until all of the remains have come off.
Soak mirabelle seeds
Don't crack the hard shell! In due course the little plant will free itself from it. Fill a bucket with water and put the kernels in it for several days. Put the bucket outside in a shady place.
Look for a suitable place
In the meantime, you can look for a suitable place in the garden. The soil should be permeable so that the kernels do not later stand in the wet and start to rot. Alternatively, you can fill pots with normal garden soil, to which you add a little sand for better permeability. The pot must also have drainage holes.
Plant seeds
Depending on their size, stick the kernels about 1-2 cm deep into the soil and forget about them for a while. The rest of the work will be done by nature. Stop by next time in spring. If you had a lucky hand, you can admire the first seedlings. As soon as the saplings have a sizable size
once you have reached, select the most vigorous specimen and plant it in its final place.
Don't miss the harvest 😉
Regardless of which one Mirabelle variety it is and how good it is care is, you have to wait about 6 years for a plum tree pulled from the core until it gives you the first fruits. Whether they will taste exactly like that of the mother plant depends on which gene combination the nucleus contained.
