Red geraniums

Red geraniums shine in a wide variety of color gradations from rather light red as in the "Elara" variety to deep dark red as in "Tomke", "Fire Merlot" or "Burgundy". Red varieties are also common among the scented geraniums, the noble geraniums (also known as "English geraniums") and the leaf geraniums. This color is probably the most common in geraniums.

Standing red geraniums

Upright growing, red geraniums are, for example, the varieties "Elara", "Samantha", "Stadt Bern", “Bernd” and “Herma”, with all the variants mentioned except for “City of Bern” filled flower heads exhibit.

Hanging red geraniums

Popular semi-hanging varieties with red, double flowers are “Merlot”, “Burgundy”, “Dark Red”, “Ruben”, “Tomke” and “Falko”. If you prefer hanging geraniums with simple flowers, the "Balcony Red" variety is the right choice for you.

Scented geraniums with red flowers

Pink geraniums

Pink geraniums are also very popular. These shades of color range from light pink to deep, dark pink. This color is also common in most types of geraniums.

Upright pink geraniums

Popular varieties in this category are "Anne" (light pink), "Katarina" (strong pink), "Fiona" (dark pink) and "Lady Ramona" (strong pink with dark eyes).

Pink hanging geraniums

A very beautiful, semi-drooping pink blooming variety is “Deep Rose”, while “Shocking Pink” is a classic hanging geranium acts.

Pink fragrant geraniums

Among the scented geraniums, Pelargonium "Atomic Snowflake" is particularly popular with its small, pink flowers and a delicate citrus scent.

Geraniums in salmon / orange

White geraniums

White geraniums look particularly good when planted alone or as a Contrast to strongly colored specimens. Particularly beautiful varieties are "Cassandra" (growing upright) and "Glacier white" (hanging).

Two-tone geraniums

Two-tone geraniums are a real feast for the eyes. These look particularly beautiful in the combination of red and white ("Mermaid", red with a white border, and "Arctic Red") as well as in pink with darker markings ("Lady Ramona", "Katinka", "Kristiana", "Vineta"). With the scented geraniums u. a. "Beromünster" two-tone. Here the leaves are pure white with a magenta mark. Even noble geraniums are often two-colored.
