Freeze Renekloden

Simply put the stone fruits in a freezer bag, freeze them into a large lump and can hardly be removed in the desired amount. It therefore makes sense to first pre-freeze the fruits individually.

  1. Place the Renekloden side by side on a tray. They shouldn't be touching.
  2. Put the stone fruit in the freezer for three hours.
  3. Pour the noble plums into a suitable container and freeze the Renekloden again.

The fruits keep for six to nine months when frozen.

How are the frozen reneclodes thawed?

You can thaw the frozen fruit in the refrigerator overnight. It's faster at room temperature. 300 g of Renekloden need around five hours to completely thaw.

During this process, the fruits lose liquid. Therefore, place the bees in a bowl in which the tasty juice can collect. You can eat the thawed stone fruit straight away or use it like fresh fruit.

If you want it to be particularly quick, you can thaw the frozen fruit in a water bath. Fill the Renekloden in a bowl and place it in a larger vessel with very warm water. Turn and stir every now and then to speed up the defrosting process.

Tips

Renekloden are often confused with mirabelle plums. However, mirabelle plums contain a little less acid, which is why they taste sweeter than the noble plums. In addition, it is more difficult to remove the stone from the pulp of reindeer than in the case of mirabelle plums.
