Instructions for planting - tips & tricks
Soak each barberry extensively in water beforehand, regardless of whether it is bare-root or potted young plants.
- The best time to plant is in autumn and spring
- Mark the course of the hedge with taut cords
- Dig a planting ditch along the marking
- Enrich the excavation with semi-ripe compost and 100 grams Horn shavings(€ 32.93 at Amazon *) per planting site
- Place bare-rooted or potted barberries in the ditch at a distance of 40 to 50 cm
- Fill up with enriched soil and kick hard
Water the soil abundantly and spread a layer of mulch. At the end of the day cut Cut back all the shoots by a third so that the young shrubs branch out profusely.
