Seed or cuttings propagation?
Plants are mostly propagated from seeds or cuttings. Does that also apply to the velvety stinky ash? At the Cut there is at least enough cuttings. Compared to the sowing it promises a significant head start in growth. However, propagation from cuttings is not recommended for these reasons:
- the cuttings are heavily lignified
- also have large leaves

Tips
Store the seeds of the stinky ash in a cool, dark and dry place until sowing.
Best time to sow
The seeds are germinated in pots. There is also enough space for these indoors. In principle, sowing is possible all year round, provided the rooms are warm enough.
Sowing step by step
- Fill one or more small pots with Potting soil.
- Put one seed per pot about 1.5 cm deep into the soil.
- Moisten the soil with a spray bottle.
- Place the pot in a bright place with temperatures between 22 and 25 degrees Celsius. You can cover each pot with plastic wrap to keep the soil moist and warm. However, it must be aired every few days so that it does not go moldy underneath.
- After about 10-12 weeks the seed will germinate. You can now completely remove the foil cover.
- If necessary, transplant the seedlings into larger pots.
Note:
In the summer, the little trees can be sheltered outdoors Location they are only slowly getting used to the sun.
Planting out
You don't have to put the beehive out in the garden in spring plants. He is allowed to spend his first winters in winter quarters. Do not plant the sapling until it has become larger and more resilient. This increases his chances of survival outdoors.
