Propagate physalis via seeds

Physalis seeds are available in every garden center and of course on the Internet. However, it is not necessary to buy new seeds every year. Instead, you can choose from self-harvested and also purchased fruits gain seeds yourself. All you need to do is cut open a berry and scrape the flesh off on a kitchen towel with a knife. The physalis is even easier to propagate using cuttings. The prerequisite for this, however, is that you already an old plant own. Cultivate cuttings

Tips & Tricks

Beware of plant seeds or cuttings from the neighbour's old plants: Most of these are plants passed on again and again and it is seldom known what kind of physalis it is acts. The fruits all look very similar, but not all of them are edible. The pretty lantern flower is poisonous, but easily confused with the edible and very healthy Andean berries.
