The cutting groups

Hydrangeas of cutting group 1 the blossoms for the following year already in the previous year. This is why these hydrangea species should only be cut very weakly and carefully. For maximum abundance of flowers, you should only thin out these plants a little in spring.
Hydrangeas of cut group 2 form the flowers on the new shoot. Like all classic summer bloomers, they bloom in late autumn or early spring cut back.

- Carefully break away to the side.
In summer you can also light the branches a little so that more light penetrates the inner area of the plant. This care measure has a very positive effect on the new formation of the flowers.
