Germinating grain is not difficult at all. You also need little material:

The germination process is divided into three parts:
- Soak the seeds (2-12 hours depending on the type of grain)
- Germination phase at 18-20 ° C (depending on the desired consistency 1-4 days)
- Wash (twice a day, more often in summer)

- Wash the seeds in a bowl of water.
- Let the seeds stand in the water for a while until the dirt particles float on the surface.
- Skim off dirt particles.
- Pour water on.
- Sieve the grain.
- Sort out damaged grains.
- Fill the seeds into the germinating jar.
- Top up with three times the amount of water.
- Close the jar well.
- Store the germ jar in a dark place (alternatively cover with a towel).
- Leave to soak for 8 to 12 hours, depending on the type of grain.
- Swirl the glass so that dirt particles separate from the grain.
- Pour off the water.
- Repeat the process if necessary if the water is still dirty.
- Pour four times the amount of water again.
- Change the water daily.
- Drain completely after a few days and allow the seeds to germinate dry.
- Rinse one last time after 1 to four days (depending on the desired size).

Storage and shelf life
Grains usually last forever if you keep them tightly sealed in a place protected from light. However, since germinated seeds have come into contact with water, the shelf life is shortened to a few days. It is best to store the grains in the refrigerator. You can safely eat it for four days.
