Observe the rules for crop rotation and mixed culture
Before you get down to planting, however, it is best to create one first Planting plan: Which plants can still be planted in July does not only depend on the season. For example, do you have a Classically layered raised bed, so planting many salads is not advisable for the first year or two. In freshly layered raised beds, the nitrogen content is very high, which is especially good for leafy vegetables that are rather weak The disadvantage is that they store the excess nitrogen in the form of harmful nitrate in their Scroll. You should therefore wait about three to four years before you grow lettuce and lamb's lettuce, radishes and various herbs on a newly created raised bed. In addition, please note when planting that not all plants get along with each other; that also applies to one Cultural sequence.

Many fast growing vegetables such as radishes, French beans, sweet peas, various salads (e.g. lettuce, radicchio, lettuce, rocket, lamb's lettuce) as well as spinach, dill, endive, tuber fennel and (autumn) radish can be sown directly into the bed in the second half of July and sometimes even in the first half of August and finally harvested in autumn will. For next year's harvest, sow parsley, beetroot and yellow beets. If you are unsure about when to sow: Be sure to follow the recommendations on the back of the seed sachets. Not all varieties tolerate the long days and the often warm temperatures in summer and then tend to shoot too quickly.
Young plants for a faster harvest
Many vegetables that are not growing that fast can still be grown in July, provided that you can preferred young plants put in the bed. Planting broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi, Brussels sprouts, kale, endive, leek and fennel is still worthwhile for a late autumn harvest. In addition, now is the time to plant the new strawberries, if you prefer higher-yielding varieties.
