In principle, the sowing of ornamental onions is rather unusual. There are several reasons for this:

When to start
Ideally, start when you have freshly harvested the seeds. Then their ability to germinate is best. The seeds should not be stored for too long. If you do want to store them, put the seeds in a container in a dark, dry place.
The seeds can be sown in late summer. Sowing outdoors is possible until autumn. If you forget that, you can still sow the seeds in spring. It is important that cool temperatures can act on the seeds at the time of sowing. In spring, the period between March and April is perfect.
Sow the seeds at home
