When is the ideal planting time?
As soon as the autumn dormant phase begins, you can plant the Prunus cerafisera. It should be noted that only young specimens survive a change of location. You should no longer transplant older trees or bushes.
When does the growing season begin?
This species sets in early spring blossoms at. They delight from April to May. Then blood plums produce sweet fruits.
How does this ornamental wood reproduce?
The multiplication of the blood plum takes place mainly through Finishing. Wild shoots and sowing do not lead to the desired result.
Correct plants
Prepare a planting hole. This should be twice the size of the root ball itself. The next step is to loosen the soil.

Container planting
Gently pull the container away from the plant. Loosening the root ball is recommended. Then let the entire bale soak in water. That way it takes root faster. - thin layer: earth with humus
- Insert the blood plum centered
- Fill up with soil
- Press lightly in between
Notes on transplanting
The blood plum is removed from the soil with the entire root ball. Then use a sharp cutting tool to shorten the roots. This also happens with the crown.
Rule:
- Bring the root ball and crown to the same size
- Plant distance to matching neighboring plants
- at least 100 centimeters for medium-sized specimens
Tips & Tricks
Hobby gardeners are happy to use the resistant Prunus cerafisera Nigra variety. Dwarf forms are suitable for smaller gardens.
