Vole boy found

Once you have found a baby vole, only touch and raise it if you are sure the mother vole will not come back. If you touch the vole cub and put it back in the nest, the mother may no longer accept it because it smells like humans. A found vole should be removed from parasites: To do this, wipe the vole boy thoroughly or brush the fur carefully.

Raising vole baby

Feeding baby vole by hand is not child's play because they often need food: they should be fed every 2 to 3 hours during the day and every 3 to 4 hours at night. Use a laboratory pipette to feed baby mice with rearing milk for cats or goats. You can get these at the pet shop. As a last resort, you can mix fennel tea with grape sugar and a pinch of salt. You should then get the milk mentioned as soon as possible.

After feeding, you should massage the little mouse's stomach with a cotton swab for a few minutes to stimulate digestion.

Tips

Provide the necessary warmth for your little vole with a hot water bottle.

The multiplication of voles

In March / April and September / October voles feel like mating. It only takes three weeks from fertilization to the birth of the baby vole. Vole females give birth to two to four cubs, which themselves are sexually mature after only two months. Even though voles are solitary animals, overpopulation can quickly occur.
