With the Danzinger Kantapfel (syn.: (brown-red) raspberry apple, summer apple, Swabian rose apple, love apple, calvilla-like apple Winter rose apple, Calville de Dantzig, Calvilla die Danzica) is a very old variety that was introduced in Germany as early as 1760 has been described. The distinctive red color of the fruit and its refreshing sweet and sour aroma make the Danzinger Kantapfel a very popular table apple.
