Roses (pink) have been bred for over 200 years. Countless cultivars were created through crossing or the selection of particularly pretty mutants. The climbing roses form their own group, which are characterized by their long shoots. Otherwise, the varieties within the group are as diverse as you are used to from roses. Whether simple or double flowers, whether delicate pink, strong red or bright yellow, there is something for every taste.

Climbing roses: These types of roses are suitable

When it comes to climbing roses, one speaks either of the actual climbing roses or of rambler roses. Both species can develop meter-long shoots studded with colorful flowers, which turn into a fragrant experience of nature on fences or rose arches along your garden. But even if both share a love of height, there are a number of differences between the species that have to be considered before buying a climbing rose. If you want your garden to bloom several times a year, use real climbing roses. Rambler roses are ideal for high house facades or large rose arches, because their particularly elastic shoots tend to be between 6 and 10 meters long. With a lot of effort, the actual climbing roses only manage 3 meters. But the growth here is more compact and the flowers larger. However, the selection of your climbing rose not only has a considerable influence on the later growth and flowering time, but also on how the plants need to be cared for later.
