Giant orchid: instructions
In order to help your orchid bloom to a giant bloom, you have to take the first steps before it blooms. First it is mixed with water and poured into a watering can and a spray bottle. The important thing here is to use the special orchid fertilizer: This is perfectly adapted to the needs of the beautiful plant. In contrast, classic flower fertilizers and house plant fertilizers are too high in doses and do not have the right nutrient composition. Organic fertilizer is not sufficiently decomposed in the airy orchid substrate.
Then it goes to the plant: Use a sharp knife to cut the plant just above the lowest bud so that only one bud remains on the plant. Make sure that your knife is really sharp and clean in order to protect the health of the plant in the best possible way. Now the orchid can be fertilized: With the fertilizer water from the watering can, the orchid is optimally supplied with nutrients and water. You can also use the spray bottle to fertilize the leaves. However, there is too much of a good thing with the orchid: If it is watered too often, root rot can occur and too frequent spraying of the leaves increases the risk of fungal infections. So hold back a little - die once a week Watering orchid or even just every 14 days is sufficient.
Since the orchid now only has one flower bud, it puts its full strength into the growth of one huge flower instead of many smaller ones. The result cannot be overlooked: if it is good Care of the orchid the flower quickly reaches a considerable size. In direct comparison to a conventionally grown plant, a giant orchid flower is twice as large. In this way, a normal orchid becomes a real feast for the eyes with the simplest of means.
