Bow hemp is a wonderful houseplant with many benefits. With so much diversity, however, the decision is not always easy. You can find out how to find the right plant for you here.

Buying bow hemp: what you should pay attention to

Buying bow hemp is usually straightforward. Since the demands of all species and varieties are relatively similar, you really only need to worry about the appearance, because pests rarely strike at bow hemp. Opt for types with flat leaves like

Sansevieria trifasciata, you can usually let yourself be guided by the outside world. However, things look different with bow hemp with round leaves Sansevieria cylindrica the end. It gets more difficult, because in addition to the different varieties, there are also different cultivars that are often described in a similar way to the varieties.

Cultivated forms of bow hemp:

  • Spaghetti: For this purpose, young individual plants are planted so close together that they grow long and thin, individually separated, next to each other
  • Mikado: This type of culture works in a similar way, except that the individual cuttings grow a little further apart and are consequently thicker
  • Musica: Here the individual plants are planted next to each other in a row, similar to a fan or an organ
  • Twister: In this shape, the individual plants are intertwined in a thick braid

It is advisable to separate such arrangements after purchase and to separate the young plants in order to enable the individual plants to grow well.

Note: It becomes critical with such exciting constructions as colored hats on the tips. These hardly contribute to the vitality of the plants.
