Native to the USA, this strain was discovered in 1934. According to lore, Super Manga was created through natural mutation. The apple variety has achieved international fame, particularly due to its enormously large fruits. A fruit weight of about 2 kg can be achieved under good culture conditions with sufficient thinning of the fruit.
