When do astilbes sprout the flower stalks?
When astilbes sprout their flower stalks cannot be said in general. That depends heyday on, and that is at the many sorts differing. The Japanese japonica (Astilbe japonica), for example, opens the first flower panicle in May. It drives out the long flower stalks almost at the same time as the leaves. The Chinese sparrow, on the other hand, is a late bloomer. It only blooms in August. The hybrid varieties (astilbe x arrendsi) all flower differently.

Reduce the risk of defoliation with regular radical pruning
Although the Astilbe will sprout again in the spring, the shade perennial can become bare over time on the inside. Then even a radical cut cannot stimulate new shoots in this area. It is better to routinely perform a complete radical cut every 3-4 years.
