Tip:

For the chopstick test, pierce the center of the cake with a wooden skewer. If liquid dough still sticks to the skewer, the cake is not done yet. A clean skewer, on the other hand, indicates a well-done cake. Minimal crumbs are fine.

This moist cake with applesauce is a classic sponge cake. The quantities are sufficient for a 26 cm springform pan. Alternatively, the amount of dough is also sufficient for a loaf tin (30 x 11 cm) or a Bundt cake tin with a diameter of 22 cm. However, this can also increase the baking time.
