You don't have to own a huge winery to be able to make good wine yourself. Rather, it is enough to be creative in your own garden and to trust your own good taste when it comes to wine production. In this context, it certainly cannot do any harm to rely on higher powers and to enlist the friendly support of Saint Vincent at the same time. As is well known, he is the patron saint of winegrowers and will certainly not refuse his help to those who want to indulge in winemaking on their own. It's all about the fruitIn order to be able to make wine yourself, you can of course use a wide variety of fruits from your home garden. It does not necessarily have to be the comparatively expensive and also very sensitive wine trees in order to shine in wine production. So if you have been creative in the garden throughout the year, you can definitely benefit from a delicious fruit wine in autumn. (W)ein guarantee for tasteful evenings! A few accessories, a little patience - and the wine production becomes a delicious success! You need fruit, sugar, citric acid (optionally lactic acid), pure yeast, water and a fermentation container with an airtight seal. Very special care is required from the beginning to the fermentation, during the clarification as well as during the bottling. This is the only way the wine will later get its desired character. However, this requires, among other things, that the sugar and acid content is optimal. With an Oechsle scale, this can be determined individually; an aspect that plays a role in terms of taste and shelf life. As soon as the bubbling noise can no longer be heard after fermentation, the fruits are sieved and the clarification process begins. Even after extensive clarification as part of the winemaking process, it is possible that a sediment will later form when the bottle is stored. However, this does not detract from the taste of the wine. Tip: if the bottles are sealed with natural corks, the wine has the chance to breathe freely, which in turn ensures even better wine quality. With so much taste, it is definitely worth being creative in the garden.
