If a swimming pool is supposed to provide fun, exercise and relaxation indoors or outdoors, a few questions arise. Information on the Intex Pool and Bestway Pool models can be found here.

In a nutshell

  • The choice of models is very large
  • both brands have advantages and disadvantages
  • Installation depends on the respective variant and the scope
  • Costs can vary widely
  • numerous different sizes

Intex pool

Intex pools cover a wide range. Round, square, oval, with filters, baby pools and even whirlpools can be found in the selection. This means that there is something suitable for everyone. A special feature of the range is that the technical equipment also varies greatly.

Prices

Depending on the size and features of the respective model, prices range between less than ten euros and more than 2,000 euros. It is noticeable that the purchase prices for both the pool and the accessories are low despite the high quality.

volume

The filling quantities of the Intex pools are between 288 and several thousand liters. This gives a very wide range. There is also diversity in terms of shapes and dimensions.

The larger the pool, the more elaborate the struts are.

Execution & quality

The Intex pools prove to be of high quality. In tests and comparisons, they often come off with good to very good. Another special feature is the range of accessories. There are cleaners, filters and pumps as well as fun for children and lighting options.

Benefits

The large selection is a decisive advantage. Since Intex Pool even offers variants for indoor use, the expanded basement, for example, can be turned into a spa. Installation is simple, even with the heated models, and can be carried out by laypersons without any problems.
This applies to both the inflatable versions and the versions with frames made of plastic or steel. In addition, these are not fixed installations. The pools can therefore be dismantled comparatively easily and are also permitted in rental properties or the leased garden, if necessary.

Potential deductions

Due to the material used, Intex pools are relatively light, inexpensive and can easily be taken with you when you move. However, they are also prone to damage. You should therefore urgently keep sharp edges and pointed objects away from them.

Bestway pool

Just like Intex, Bestway Pools are a well-known brand. Due to the low prices and the practical pools, they are ideal for small to large gardens. In addition, the indoor area can also be enriched with a spa element through the whirlpool range.

costs

Some models are already available for less than 100 euros. Larger versions, however, are priced at over 1,000 euros. Overall, the Bestway range is cheaper than the Intex models.

Sizes

As with the competitor, the spectrum here is also very large. However, there are no pools especially for children. The volume is generally larger and more geared towards families. Singles and couples will also find what they are looking for in the whirlpools, as well as in the pools for the garden.

Quality & execution

The comprehensive range from Bestway includes inflatable variants that do not require a pump, as well as models with frames. In addition, there are different forms. Round, oval and rectangular designs are available.
Aside from the variety, all pools are also of high quality in terms of material and workmanship.

Benefits

In addition to Intex, Bestway Pool often ranks first in tests and comparisons. The customer experiences are also positive. In addition, the advantages include the large selection as well as a high quality standard and numerous accessories.
Due to their low weight, the pools can easily be placed on weaker foundations and, in the case of whirlpools, can even be used and heated indoors. There are also other advantages such as:

  • resistant material
  • low prices
  • long service life with proper care

Potential drawbacks

Compared to Intex, while Bestway has lower prices, it also has some potential deductions. Including:

  • generally larger pools
  • no pools especially for children
  • Material can be damaged by sharp or pointed objects
  • Test ratings good but not as good as Intex

construction

Whether inflatable or with a frame, assembly is quick and easy. Nevertheless, you should have at least one helper in any case.
Also, pay attention to the following factors:

Rimmed pool
with a self-made border, you make your pool more durable.
  • even, safe surface
  • Securing the technology
  • Water drainage in the right direction or safe disposal via wastewater

I have had Intex round pools for 4 years. The first 2 years a smaller one and then a 5.49 × 5.49 × 1.22 m. I have to say that I am really happy with that. At first glance, these 'blue UFOs' may not look particularly stable, but you are mistaken. We regularly have a gang of teenagers in the pool and that is sometimes a real acid test.

Bought a whirlpool from Intex at Hornbach 14 days ago. The pool loses more air from day one than it can be due to temperature fluctuations. All other checks carried out in the description (valve, outer skin ...) Written by email twice asked for explanation / help. no reaction. Not until today. lousy customer support.

In my opinion, there are no quality differences between Intex and Bestway, they are both established pool manufacturers on the market. The difference between metal and plastic pools is of course mainly in the stability, although pools made of plastic are not exactly unstable.
