Aloe vera Requires a warm, full sun and a sandy, well-drained substrate. May be outdoors in summer, but must be wintered frost-free. Water sparingly and make sure that the inside of the rosette does not get damp, as this will lead to rot. Old medicinal plant that has a soothing effect on minor burns and sunburn, for example. Blooms every year.
African violet The overhanging shoots make it a very attractive hanging plant. Tolerates full sun and heat, but is not hardy. Water sparingly. Can be cultivated outdoors in summer and all year round on a south-facing window or in the winter garden.
hibiscus Beautiful flowers in many different colors. Requires warm temperatures all year round and an even supply of water as well as regular fertilizers. Can be outdoors in summer. When brought into the house in good time, the flowering period can be extended well into November.
Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia) Prefers a full sun and is very tolerant of heat. Should be left outdoors during the summer, this promotes flower formation. Water dosed, as waterlogging quickly leads to root rot. Regularly
fertilize.
A popular cut flower because of the interestingly shaped and colored flowers. When the plant blooms depends on the winter, which can be cool or warm.
African Lily Full sun location. Water regularly but dosed in summer. Maintain uniform soil moisture even in cool winter quarters. The substrate should contain coarse-grained portions, as the fleshy roots quickly begin to rot in compacted soil. An attractive permanent bloomer in full sun. Do not repot until the planter threatens to burst, this will keep the will to bloom.
Crown of fame Prefers a sheltered, warm place without direct midday sun. Keep it evenly moist and fertilize regularly. Hibernate rhizomes in a cool, dark place. Drive in the room in early spring. Supported by a climbing aid, the plant with the bizarre flowers can reach heights of over one meter.

Liver sausage tree Should be sunny to partially shaded and tolerate temperatures of up to forty degrees without any problems. The substrate must be rich in nutrients and with sand, perlite or Clay granules enriched. Water regularly, but absolutely avoid waterlogging. Apply a commercially available liquid fertilizer once a week. Very sensitive to frost, must be cultivated in the house or winter garden all year round.
