The oleander makes special demands on the light conditions during the winter. You should adjust the brightness depending on the temperature. If the winter quarters do not allow these conditions due to the early setting sun, artificial lighting can help.
Hibernate oleanders outside
If the weather forecast announces severe frost, you should wrap the oleander with a fleece, as is usual with other plants. It is not advisable to use a foil, as mold forms quickly. However, even a fleece may only last for a few days. Otherwise, the lack of light would cause the shrub to perish. In any case, you should insulate the pot. Place the oleander in a sheltered, roofed place, preferably against a house wall.
