Long-lasting even if left untreated

Larch wood that is not treated with protective and care products is still in good condition even after years. The Siberian larch is harder than other types of larch and is popular as a flooring for terraces.

Prevent gray haze

Outside, the Siberian larch is exposed to wind and weather. Wetness and exposure to sunlight are the two components that gnaw on it the most. Over time, part of the surface decomposes and forms a silvery-gray patina. This is a natural protection against harmful UV radiation.

The gray discoloration is primarily a question of the appearance, which not every owner likes. It can be prevented preventively.

  • treat with a special larch oil

Tips

Staining is useful if you want to change the color of the larch wood. However, it must first be treated with a resin-soluble agent.

Clean dirty surface

Siberian larch can tolerate chemicals, but you should still use soapy water for cleaning. Special wooden floor soaps clean and also form a protective layer.

Coarse dirt can be removed with a brush. Bird droppings and other soiling should be removed as quickly as possible so that they do not leave unsightly stains on the wood surface.

Extend service life

Although larch wood has a long lifespan even untreated, it can be extended for many more years with the right care. Of course, not all influences pass by this hard wood without leaving a trace.

Regular oiling protects the Siberian larch from drying out, moisture penetration and mechanical stress. The wood stays beautiful longer. The hard wax oil has proven to be particularly effective, but it is pigment-free and does not prevent the gray haze.

Raised bed made of larch

A raised bed made of larch is particularly stable and durable. The wood can be used without treatment, as it can dry off well after rain. In this way, the bed and its contents remain 100% natural.
