How to mow wet lawns properly
Once you have started the engine, please walk directly behind the lawn mower. If you step on wet blades of grass before cutting, they will not stand up for a long time and the knives will not catch them. If damp grass collects in the collecting basket, the weight increases rapidly so that the wheels sink in noticeably deeper. So take more breaks to empty the basket.
Wet clippings often get caught in the cutter bar. Do not wait for the engine to run as a result stutters. Turn off the mower, pull the spark plug cap, and remove the wet grass from the blades. Tilt Always operate the mower with the spark plug and air filter facing up.
The setting to the maximum cutting height makes mowing noticeably easier in rainy weather. If you find the lawn too high at the end of the day, lower the wheels one step. Never cut the noble grasses shorter than 4 to 5 cm. Even in rainy weather, act according to the golden rule of one third: Cut off a maximum of one third of the leaf mass on lawn grasses.
