Intersectively blend
Mainly all lower side shoots have to be removed. These grow up to a maximum of 50 centimeters above the ground. Cut all branches that are growing steeply or that are too close together directly above the Loppers. In the next step you focus on the central drive. The cutting tool should be placed about 40 centimeters above the highest side shoots.
Furthermore, cut back young shoots. These grow well on average for a maximum of one to two years.
Tip:
Be sure to remove old and gnarled branches. Hanging and bare branches have an adverse effect on growth.
Choosing the right time
Plums are one of the fruit trees. The dormancy period between November and March is considered a suitable time for pruning. The resilient wood should not be cut in any case in frosty weather. There is a risk here that the wood will become brittle. Of the tree develops only weakly.

- Autumn pruning: thin out well, shorten in spring
