This leaf disease, which is not only typical for peaches, is caused by the fungus Taphrina deformans. As early as the end of winter (ergo in January and February) the cucumber attacks the still young leaf and flower buds. When the leaves begin to sprout in spring, they will curl and develop green or red blisters. The tree will shed the leaves as the disease progresses, even entire branches can die. In particular in very humid winters there is an infestation with the causative fungus.

What can you do about frizzy sickness?
Once the tree is infested, there is not much that can be done. Basically, only preventive measures such as

- the Hosing down with fungicides containing copper before the leaf shoots
- Choosing the right location: ideally protected from rain under one roof

If you don't want to give frizz disease a chance, a resistant peach tree is the right choice. However, Harrow Beauty also convinces with its juicy and very aromatic pulp. Don't leave Harrow Beauty on the tree too long
In contrast to other peaches, you should harvest Harrow Beauty when the fruits are still pressure-resistant - i.e. not yet fully ripe. Of the Peach will ripen afterwards and then develop a fruity-sweet taste. Peaches of this variety that have been left on the tree for too long lose their fruity taste and often become floury.
Choosing the right location
Peaches need a lot of sun, which is why a full sun to at least partial shade, west or south-facing location is ideal. If the leaves turn yellow to red in summer, this is often due to a lack of light. If, on the other hand, the leaves are very light in color instead of a strong green, this is usually due to a lack of nutrients.
