Why is the slide not working properly?
There are different reasons why a Slide too fast or is too slow. Regardless of the material of the slide surface, the slope is very important. If the slide is too steep, your children slide relatively quickly. On a slide that is too shallow, on the other hand, the speed leaves a lot to be desired. Plastic slides get quite dull on their own over time and need help.

How can I make a slide faster?
Don't grab a tool right away if your slide is too slow. Maybe it's your children's clothing. Jeans, for example, often have a "slip-resistant" effect. Let your children slip into different pants for once. Sometimes this measure is enough.
Plastic slides become dull over time and therefore slow. Polishing up the sliding surface helps here. You can find special polishing agents for plastics in stores, and silicone spray can also be very helpful.
It does take some work and time, but the results are impressive. However, you should sand off deep scratches and grooves with good sandpaper before polishing. Metal slides are much less susceptible in this regard, and thorough cleaning often helps here.
Last help - the remodeling
If all of the previous measures have failed, all that remains is to convert the slide to make the slide area steeper. There are basically two ways of doing this. Either raise the start / top or lower the front / bottom of the slide. If you take a close look at the slide, you will probably quickly see whether or which of these alternatives is feasible.
The essentials in brief:
- Check the inclination of the sliding surface and adjust it if necessary
- put on clothes that slide easily for children
- Sand off rough scratches and grooves
- Polish the sliding surface
- Apply silicone spray
Tips
Before you change anything on the slide, let your children slide with different pants. Maybe the problem will be resolved by itself.
