Plant size and delivery
The bigger the beeches are, the more expensive they are. It becomes very inexpensive if you buy bare-root trees. European beeches that are delivered in bales are a bit more expensive. When buying beech for a hedge in a container, you will have to put a lot of money on the table. In return, the trees grow faster and can be planted almost all year round.
How many beeches do you need?
For a meter of hedge length you need to buy two beeches. For 25 meters You need 50 plants for the beech hedge.
If you're in a hurry and want a thick hedge quickly, you can too three to four beeches per meter set. This doubles the price for the beech hedge.
However, you have to cut out the surplus trees after a few years so that they do not compete with each other for light and nutrients.
In the mail order business, beeches are cheaper
If you order a beech hedge by mail order, you will get away relatively cheaply. You have to pay around 60 euros for 50 plants (as of August 2016).
