The different seasons of imported honeydew melons
Honeydew melons are available at reasonable prices in this country, if in the European growing areasHarvest time is. This is the case from around May to September in the following countries:
- Spain
- Israel
- Italy
- Greece
However, honeydew melons are available almost all year round in many supermarkets. In the winter months, these fruits usually come from countries of origin such as Mexico, Brazil and Costa Rica.
Homemade honeydew melons
With good care, honeydew melons can also be found in this country cultivated will. Due to the cooler weather than in the usual growing areas, the seedlings have to be moved to the windowsill and then planted in a location that is as warm as possible. If grown outdoors, you won't normally be able to harvest ripe fruit until autumn at the earliest.
Tips & Tricks
If you have a greenhouse in your garden then you should have the honeydew melons in it plants and let it climb upwards. The evenly warm temperatures increase the chance of a good harvest.
