Freeze yogurt to make it durable

Before you freeze yoghurt, you should transfer it to a freezer-safe container. The water-containing dairy product expands when it freezes, so there is a chance the original yogurt pot will burst. It is therefore better to use boxes made of plastic or stainless steel that can be tightly closed with a lid. Screw-top jars are also suitable for freezing if you fill them no more than two-thirds full.
Label the selected container with the date of freezing and the contents. This way you don't lose track of the contents of your freezer and you avoid throwing away food that has been stored for too long. Spoon in the yoghurt, close the box and place it in the *** freezer compartment. This means that the yoghurt can be kept for up to six months beyond its stated use-by date.
After thawing, the yogurt has a crumbly, grainy consistency, unlike dairy products with a high fat content. As a result, it is only suitable to a limited extent for consumption on its own. However, it can still be used well for cake batter or for stirring into sauces.

Make frozen yogurt

Frozen yoghurt tastes much better. The healthy alternative to ice cream is trendy and easy to make at home. If you have an ice cream machine, it's particularly easy, but frozen yoghurt can also be prepared in the freezer. Low-fat yogurt is just as suitable for this as yogurt with a higher fat content and fruit yogurt.

  1. Stir the yogurt until smooth and creamy.
  2. Refine it to taste with pureed fruit and a little powdered sugar.
  3. Put the yoghurt mixture in a sufficiently large freezer box and place it in the *** freezer compartment.
  4. Stir the mixture well about every half an hour so that it stays creamy and does not freeze into a massive lump.
  5. Refine your homemade frozen yoghurt with toppings such as nuts, fresh fruits or sauces before consumption and enjoy it frozen.
