Where do you get seeds from?
If you are already tending to gloxinia in the garden, you can harvest seeds from the withered flowers. You just need to let the flowers stand until the seed is ripe. However, this is at the expense of a long flowering period.

Getting gloxinia seeds in stores is not that easy. Often, however, you will find what you are looking for on gardening file sharing sites or on the Internet.
Propagate gloxinia from seeds
- sowing in the spring
- Do not cover the seed (light germinator!)
- spray with a flower sprayer
- Cover pots with foil
- place light and warm
- Continue to care for young plants in a cooler place
Prepare Growing trays or pots for sowing in February or March before. Sprinkle the seeds thinly, but do not cover them with soil.
A transparent film protects the seeds from drying out. Ventilate the film regularly so that nothing goes moldy. Set up the vessels at 22 to 25 degrees.
When the seeds have germinated and the young plants have developed two to three pairs of leaves, plant them in individual pots and continue to care for them at around 15 degrees. It takes three years for the gloxinias to bloom for the first time.
Propagation by dividing the tubers
Gloxinias can be multiplied very well by division. Dig up the tubers in autumn and store them in a cool, dark and preferably dry place over winter.
From March onwards, take the tubers out of their winter quarters and divide them into pieces. Prefer them in pots. It is easy to find out whether the mother plant survived the division.
You can plant the tubers out from May when it is no longer freezing outside.
Tips
Garden gloxinias, unlike indoorGloxinia hardy. They tolerate temperatures down to minus 20 degrees. However, the wetness causes them a lot of trouble, so it makes sense to dig up the tubers and close them indoors overwinter.
