It is helpful to make sure that the privet stays strong. Thinning out the bushes a little so that the leaves can dry off better after rain and thus weaken the fungal attack.
Collect fallen fungal leaves and dispose of them in household waste and not in compost. Thoroughly clean all garden tools after each use.
Tips
Yellow leaves on the privet are caused far more often by over-fertilization than by an infestation with leaf spot fungus. Therefore, avoid giving too many nutrients to the privet.
