You do not have to fear that you will rob the butterflies of an important source of food by cutting the flowers. Cutting back promotes budding so that humans and animals benefit.

The bronze fennel captivates more with its filigree leaves than with a colorful blossom. Nevertheless, butterflies like to look for the imposing plant - especially the swallowtail.
General note: In order to attract many butterflies to the garden, you should avoid cultivated shrubs. These usually have so-called double flowers, which look beautiful but hardly contain any nectar pollen.
