Fight ants effectively in the sandpit
There are countless tips to combat ants in the sandpit. Most of them are ineffective or only keep the crawly animals away for a short time. Refraining from the use of chemical agents is a matter of course. After all, the little ones should later be able to play there unencumbered.

One approach can be to make the ants so uncomfortable that they will move on their own. For example, you can pour cold water over the nest for several days. Ants don't like too much moisture.
Relocate the ant nest
The best and most gentle measure for humans and animals is to relocate the nest. It lasts a few days, but nobody is harmed for it.
Find a larger flower pot, fill it with wood wool and put it over the nest in the sandpit. After a few days, the ants nest in the wood wool because the conditions here are more pleasant for them than that sand.
As soon as most of the ants are in the wood wool, use a spade to lift the pot out of the sand and move it to a more distant place. There you just pour out the nest.
Interrupt walkways
Prevention is a good idea to prevent ants from settling in the sandpit beforehand. Draw thicker lines of chalk around the box. Chalk contains lime, which ants do not appreciate. The line must be renewed every few days.
