How do you water alocasia properly?
Alocasia needs a lot of water, but does not tolerate waterlogging. Therefore, water the plant regularly and thoroughly. The substrate should be dry on top between the individual casting processes. Pour off excess water immediately.

When and how is the arrow sheet fertilized?
Fertilization is done every two weeks from April to September. Use a regular fertilizer for foliage plants. Halve the indicated dose.
Do you need to cut alocasia?
You are allowed to cut the arrow leaf when the plant has grown too big. It's best to do this in the spring. In doing so, cut the shoots back to two-thirds.
You can remove dead leaves as well as the flower.
What should be considered when repotting?

Put them in a larger saucepan that you previously looser with Potting soil or a mixture of leaf earth, gravel and Clay granules have filled. Put a drain in the bottom of the pot to prevent waterlogging.

If the substrate is permanently too moist, the roots will rot. In addition, Alocasia is susceptible to various pests:
- Whiteflies
- Thrips
- Spider mites
Check the plant regularly for an infestation and take control measures immediately.
How do you care for alocasia in winter?
Alocasia is cared for in the room all year round. Temperatures must not drop below 15 degrees even in winter. Water a little less in winter, but make sure that the humidity remains high enough.
Tips
The arrow leaf belongs to the arum family and is like all members of this plant family poisonous. The milky sap can cause skin irritation. You should therefore avoid an alocasia if there are small children or pets.
