Laying without creases
Foils have to adapt perfectly to the pond subsoil. This is the only way to guarantee a long service life for the film.
However, PVC films become brittle at lower temperatures and are difficult to lay. Foils are therefore best installed when the outside temperature is high in summer. This has a number of advantages:
- the film becomes soft and adapts to the surface more easily
- the risk of tearing when laying is not so great
- the film can be laid much easier and more precisely
at EPDM foils don't have this problem. They are still very flexible even at low temperatures and you hardly notice any restriction.
Tips
Use enough helpers to lay the foil. This helps you to avoid damaging tensile loads on the film. When the liner is in place, fill the pond a third with water and let it stand for a day. Pour gravel on terraces. In this way, the film adapts perfectly to the surface.
