So the garden chair does not sink into the lawn

Lawns are not a solid surface. Although the surface of a lawn has thickened after a long period of time, the legs of a garden chair sink under pressure even on such surfaces.

In addition to the shape of the chair legs, the weight of the user and the length of the useful life also contribute to the fact that the chair sinks more and more into the lawn.

This can be dangerous, because if the chair tilts as a result, the user can suffer significant injuries, for example if the chair is near the grill. As a garden owner, you should therefore ensure that the garden chair is secure and cannot sink into the lawn.

Pay attention to security when buying

If you are planning more frequent parties on the lawn, get yourself garden furniture with legs that are as wide as possible or with a wide cover. Chairs with crossbars or square feet won't sink into the lawn as quickly.

Alternatively, you can also purchase wooden planks or exposed aggregate concrete slabs that you lay out before the party. However, the lawn suffers as a result.

Protect metal and plastic chairs from sinking

Garden chairs made of metal or plastic are usually supplied with cover caps. These are put on the legs and prevent the chair from sinking into the lawn.

Such cover caps can also be obtained at a hardware store afterwards.

Secure wooden chairs

A wooden garden chair does not sink into the lawn if square wooden washers are screwed onto the feet.

It is also very beneficial to connect the chair legs as far down as possible with cross braces. Then the legs can usually only sink a little bit.

Tips

Retired Garden chairs do not necessarily have to be thrown away. They can be used to create stylish decorations for the garden, if you embellish yourself with flower bowls, stones or other decorative items.
